Interview With The Vampire :: Book Re-Design

Objective: To re-design any book of my choice

Description: This particular design is a re-design project that I was given in my third year of art and design school. I was given the freedom to choose any book of my choice, with valid reason. As you can see, my choice was Interview with the Vampire . I chose this particular book because not only is it in my top ten list of great books but, I was also not impressed with the cover of the paperback sitting on my bookshelf. It, in no way, alluded to the mood of the story. I chose to first capture the mood by using the black letter typeface as an elegant design element and then capture the darkness of the vampire chronicles with mysterious and eerie photos in the chapter intros.
